But for us secularists, isn't that precisely how morality is defined? As a set of norms agreed upon by society? So if 99% of people called abortion murder, that would make it a norm. Unlike religious people, to whom morality is handed down and not subject to challenges, we can challenge and transform our norms. Which is why I'm arguing that we should steer clear of misleading axioms (such as fetus=person) so as not to pollute our norm-making process.
